Design Process

At this meeting, we come to your home to discuss your landscaping needs and ideas. We will walk the property with you and discuss fees, timelines and services available. You will also have an opportunity to review my portfolio of recently designed projects. Upon coming to an agreement about the services to be provided, we will proceed with the next step.

This evaluation is an inventory of the site to gather information necessary to create a base map from which the design can be developed. Elements relevant to the design will be noted, including the position of the home on the lot, sun/shade exposures, topography, structures, existing plant materials, drainage, access to water, and important views. A plot plan for your property is helpful in this process.

A detailed landscape plan will be developed based on the findings from the site evaluation and your project goals. A conceptual design meeting will be scheduled to discuss design layout options, and to ensure that the design is in line with your vision for the project. Pictures will be used to communicate proposed ideas.

We will provide you with 2 copies of the landscape masterplan and hardscape layout. These plans will detail all new plantings and the layout of hardscape elements, including patios, walkways, and outdoor lifestyle features. A PDF will be provided of all documents for your records to use for HOA approval or create additional copies.
